Diane Thompson, President
Diane has been planning and implementing online marketing and sales programs for 15 years, both in the BtoB space and BtoC. A successful career in high technology culminated in being VP of sales and marketing for a $300m/year software company and subsequently president of a spin-off of that company that became a national, 80-employee marketing and sales outsourcer. In 2005, Diane left high tech and, with a partner, founded a consulting company dedicated to digital strategy and programs for political candidates and organizations. She has grown that company from the ground up to include high-profile clients throughout the US.
Diane’s passion for wine led to a very strong interest in the business of wine, specifically selling wine and applying years of experience to help wineries sell more wine. This led to starting Wine Country New Media, dedicated to realizing the nearly untapped opportunity for wineries to increase revenue and profits through informed and strategic use of creative sales tactics and technology.
Diane’s
education includes a BA in Political Science and Economics at UC Santa Barbara
and an MBA at Santa Clara University. Additionally, Diane has attended
the prestigious OIV Wine Marketing Program at UC Davis. One of the
interesting insights was the commonality of challenges faced in the three tier
distribution system in the wine industry and the three tier system in consumer
electronics and software.
